The impetus is movement and energy, it provides us with the necessary state of mind to initiate any action or change, but it can also lead us to acceleration, excessive force or violence. The idea that underlies Ímpetu's music is to explore these sensations, to evoke the certainties and contradictions that occur when following an internal impulse and how these manifest themselves at the corporal level. In the Middle Ages the now obsolete Theory of Impetus was developed in order to explain movement in physical bodies. They wondered what was the reason why a stone thrown into the air continued its movement before falling back to the ground. What was driving it during its trajectory?

El ímpetu es movimiento y energía, nos provee del estado de ánimo necesario para iniciar cualquier acción o cambio, pero también nos puede abocar hacia la aceleración, la fuerza excesiva o la violencia. La idea que subyace en la música de Ímpetu es la de explorar estas sensaciones, evocar las certezas y contradicciones que se producen al seguir el impulso interno y cómo éstas se manifiestan a nivel corporal. En la Edad Media se desarrolló la hoy obsoleta Teoría del Ímpetu con el fin de explicar el por qué del movimiento en los cuerpos físicos. Aquellos estudiosos se preguntaban cuál era la razón por la que una piedra lanzada al aire continuaba su movimiento antes de caer de nuevo al suelo, qué era lo que la impulsaba durante su trayectoria.
